Winter Wonders

Eating fruit in season is a worthy pursuit: It keeps you closer to the natural rhythms of the year, and may leave a smaller carbon footprint than buying, say, strawberries grown halfway around the world. Unfortunately, it’s all too easy to fall into a rut with winter staples like apples, pears, and citrus. The recipes listed below give those fruits a fresh infusion of flavor. You may even forget to wish for spring.
